Getting Back On Track
The other day I was in a conversation with someone who shared that their life felt like a mess. They were looking for the one thing that caused everything to go sideways. Was it the finances, the jobs, the relationships, the stress level? Was there really a “cause” at all? So many questions and unfortunately I didn't have the "answer"...but it got me thinking.
Have you ever been in the car with someone who won’t admit they are lost? Frustrating right? You know deep down that if only they would acknowledge they don’t know which way to go right away, they might be able to actually get where they are headed without to much of a detour. Life is so much like that.
When people become frustrated with their lives, they can often trace those feelings back to a point when they consciously quit following that little voice inside (aka their internal guidance system) that know intuitively what path is in alignment with what they want out of life. It may have happened in small bits and pieces or in one big powerful moment, but without exception there is a moment when things shifted, when they stopped being true to themselves and the result was “derailing”.
It happens to us all, but the difference in those who get back on track and those who continue to flounder is the simple act of being willing to do things differently. And that doesn’t have to be painful.
It is often as simple as having the courage to admit that we are lost, searching for the truth in our situation and asking for some guidance or help when we need it.
Remember we are never given a dream without the ability to make it happen. So the next time you feel “off”, take a moment and ask yourself if the path you are on is really taking you where you want to go or is it taking you off course. Take the time to get quiet and identify how you feel and then make decisions based on what is true for you. When we all live in our own brilliance and truth we can’t help but make the world around us better for ourselves and those around us.
